3 Effective Ab Exercises for Good Abs

As a result of the 3 ineffective ab exercises I figured I would help you guys out with 3 really effective ab exercises that target your muscles. Just remember that even though these exercises give your abs a godd workout they should only be added after doing some compound exercises like squats, push ups, and rows.

Doing ab exercises like crunches on the floor does not work at all. It strains your back and neck. These exercises will not only make your back and neck feel better but they will make your stomach sore if you have never done them before. Get a six pack by doing them.

1) Reverse Crunches - The way these are performed is by laying down with your legs up in the air and your knees bent at 90 degrees. Then without any help from your hands bring your knees back to your chest and then back to the starting position. That is one rep.

For great results do 12-15 reps of 2-3 sets at each workout. These are great for working your lower abs and are one of the best crunches you can do on floor. A much better upgrade from the basic floor crunches.

2) Swiss Ball Sit Ups - If you do not have an exercise ball then you might want to think about investing about $15 into one. It really blows away the abs equipment that costs hundreds of dollars and is way more effective.

Simply sit on the in a comfortable position and then arch back as far as you can and then back forward as if you were doing a crunch on the floor. Again these are a much better replacement for floor crunches. Use the same rep range for great results.

3) Hanging Knee Raises - Another great addition to have in your home gym is a pull up bar. Do these by hanging from the bar with your body straight and then bring your knees up to your chest and back down. These are a great work out for your lower abs.

Each of these ab exercises are great additions to doing a full body work out because they target your abs directly while compound movements work them a little bit and add more definition to your body.

They are pretty hard to do at first depending on what shape you are in. With time and effort you will be able to do these with ease and be able to see your six pack abs within a month or two.
