What Carbs You Should Stay Away From

There is a lot of debate over carbs. Do they make you fat? Do they provide you energy? The truth about them is that when you are trying to lose fat it is best to only eat vegetables and fruits as your carb sources.

Try to have a serving of fruits or vegetables at every meal. That way you keep your energy levels high without worrying about your body storing fat. The carbs that you should avoid most of the time are known as "white carbs".

Some sources of these carbs are...

  • rice
  • bread
  • pancakes
  • cake
  • ice cream
  • potatoes
  • bagels
  • muffins
  • cereal

But what if they are whole grain? You can pretty much get any of these carb sources as whole grain. But all whole grain is is extra vitamins and minerals for your body. Having a sandwich on whole wheat bread is healthier but is still a strachy carb source so it is stored in the body as fat.

Fruits and vegetables are not calorie dense like white carbs are. Actually for most cases it takes the body more calories to digest fruits and vegetables than how many calories they have.

So does this mean you should avoid white carbs at all costs?

It all depends on how much you work out. But if you really want to get lean then it would be best to elminate all carb sources. You can have one or two servings as a post workout meal since your muscles need recovery. But avoid white carbs all the other times.

To keep energy levels up eat fruits and vegetables with each meal and you will feel great. The best kinds of starchy carbs you can have is in my opinion oatmeal and quinoa which is a very healthy kind of rice.

What is important though is that you stay away from junk food and white carbs are junk food. Remember when trying to lose fat you can still eat junk food 90% of the time so having something sugary of fattening once about every two days is fine.

Just focus on working out and eating the right foods that are loaded with protein, healthy fats, vitamins, and minerals. Natural foods are the best sources for this and should be consumed frequently for great fat loss results.

So avoid white carbs 90% of the time while eating natural foods and you will develop lean sexy abs.
